Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sweet Italian sausage, sliced (or chicken/turkey sausage)
  • 1 cup jasmine rice, rinsed
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet.
  2. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and minced garlic; sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add rinsed jasmine rice to the skillet and stir for about 2 minutes to toast lightly.
  4. Pour in chicken broth, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and grated ginger; stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
  6. After cooking time is up, return the sausage to the skillet and gently fold into the rice mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
