Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm water (105°F to 115°F)
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon dill weed
  • 25–30 dill pickle slices
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • Fresh dill (roughly chopped for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Let it sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add olive oil, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, and kosher salt to the yeast mixture; stir to combine.
  3. Gradually mix in all-purpose flour until a cohesive dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and transfer it onto an oiled baking sheet. Press and stretch into a ½-inch thick rectangle, creating dimples in the surface.
  6. Cover again and let rest for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Drizzle olive oil over the dough, spread creamy sauce made from sour cream, mayonnaise, milk, lemon juice, garlic, dill weed, salt, and pepper on top.
  8. Top with dill pickle slices and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before garnishing with fresh dill.
